I started Mindful Clicks as a place to share everything I’ve learned about mindful photography. As a busy working professional and mom of one (with another on the way!), I’ve learned it is vital to take care of my mind as well as my body. A few years ago I became interested in mindfulness meditation. I learned that meditation is an exercise for our brain in the same way weightlifting is an exercise for our body and I wanted to make meditation a part of my life – the only problem is that I have a VERY hard time sitting still. I’m the type of person that needs to be moving in order to focus my thoughts, so sitting down to meditate seemed like a hopeless cause.
I almost gave up on meditation, but one day while I was out with my camera snapping photos I suddenly realized I could practice meditation while I was taking pictures. I realized I didn’t have be sitting to practice meditation, but I could practice meditation while I was walking around, exploring my surroundings. Since then I have been sharing my experience with mindful photography.
Mindful photography can help you take a break from the hectic turmoil of everyday life in order to find the mental space you need to rejuvenate and thrive – and it’s pretty fun!
